Per Ingrid Brânemark, who was actually an orthopedist and an anatomy teacher, was studying tissue healing and the effects of blood flow on rabbits in Sweden in the early 1950s. At that moment, he was not aware that he was on the verge of a brand new invention that would affect the future and radically change the quality of human life.

The small titanium plate he placed in his subjects was so attached to the bone that it did not seem possible to separate it from the bone…

This combination was the beginning of an invention that would break new ground in the world and revolutionize dentistry.

Of course, what would be the result when this combination, which took place under laboratory conditions, was applied in the clinic and in humans? The scientific world was approaching the subject with skepticism.

In September 1965, Brânemark started clinical studies with 20 volunteer students. In other words, by placing the first implant in the oral environment, it started an exciting adventure that will continue to develop for years.

The year is 2019….

It is known that every year in the USA, potential 500,000 people are candidates for implant treatment and this sector has reached an annual volume of 4.5 Billion Dollars for the USA alone.

In our country, the situation is not very different. It is known that approximately 100,000 patients apply to clinics for implant treatment annually and this number is increasing every day.

Implant treatment….

Miracle? Or Lifetime? In all circumstances? Why implant? Which implant? Who should I trust?

I will continue to share with you the answers to these and more questions that come to your mind…

With love and health….
